Rock Identity interviewed all five bands who performed at the JRock Invasion Episode 1, which took place on December 29 in the Palladium in Cologne. Those interviews took place right after the actual band’s show and were thought to make the waiting time until the next act shorter for the fans. The following text is a record of those interviews.
Rock Identity: Please introduce yourself to your fans.
Isshi: I’m Isshi on vocals.
Nao: I’m Nao on bass.
What were your feelings and thoughts when you were told that you’ll play in Germany?
Isshi: I was realy happy. I couldn’t wait to perform here.
What did you associate with Germany until now?
Isshi: The image we’ve had of Germany so far is... (he passes the microphone to Nao)
Nao: …very cute. (Note: He said it in English.)
Was there anything surprising for you, anything you would not have expected?
Isshi: That the girls are this pretty and that there are so many who came to the event.
In which countries would you like to perform too? Why?
Nao: Throughout Europe. And the next time we would like to perform as an oneman. And we would like to have Oliver Kahn as our opening act.
What’s the meaning of your band name and who decided on it?
Isshi: If you write Kagrra with kanji, it means: A god amuses himself. If it reaches our fans and they’re enjoying themselves then a god is surely amused himself too. We decided on it together.
To which kind of music do you privately listen to?
Isshi: Helloween.
What do you think about the German fans?
Nao: We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to the next time.

Have you seen any pretty girls?
Isshi: There’s a couple of them here.
What presents did you receive for Christmas?
Nao: We received many messages in Japan. The concert today was our second present.
What are you going to do on New Year’s Day?
Isshi: I haven’t had a break for a year that’s why I’m definitely going to stay at home.
Many consider your music as traditional and influenced by the japanese and asian culture. Do you regard yourself as traditional Japanese?
Isshi: We see ourselves as traditional people, especially if we’re dressed like this on stage. (He indicates on the kimonos they’re wearing.) We want to express ourselves with this.
